Here are the top findings from this week.

  • Fitness- The following quote popped up on my morning Readwise Daily review this week (Readwise is an awesome tool that can sync your highlights and learnings from books, articles, podcasts, and more. It then serves up a random review of these highlights daily so you can keep the best insights top of mind. Click here for a free month trial plus a bonus month) and it's been incredible to see how impactful it's been on my weekly runs. I've recited the four-word phrase below during each pair of strides during runs and have been impressed with the results.

  • Nutrition- This week I stumbled on a new favorite post-workout recovery shake for a simple protein and electrolyte fix. It provides 20g of protein and all of the electrolytes you need to refuel after an intense session.

  • Recovery- One of the best feelings is taking a hot shower after an intense workout to kick off the recovery process. When I worked at Equinox, I was introduced to Kiehl's products and have been hooked ever since. Using their Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner and associate it with my luxurious reward post-workout.

  • Business- I finished The E-Myth Revisited and the insights related to building a successful small business were revelatory. I'm going to do a full book review of the key highlights in the future but the one takeaway that I think is applicable to anyone is the process of creating an organizational system for your endeavor. For example, let's say you're an actor. Imagine the future that you desire for yourself. Now at this peak think of yourself as a small business. What does the organization chart look like to support your ideal success? Do you have an assistant to manage appointments? Do you have an acting coach? Do you have a trainer? What roles need to be filled to optimally support your peak success? With this in mind, you can sketch out what this org chart would need to look like. This brings us to the critical point. In order to achieve the success you desire, you essentially need to fill each of those roles yourself in the present. So if you see a team of six people needed to help support your success, then you are fulfilling each of those six roles currently and should take each of them seriously, because your success depends on it. As you grow, you can begin to fill those roles with others and provide them with the "operations manual" documenting what you've found successful in that role so far. This applies to all small businesses and helps act as the solution to feeling as if there's not enough time in the day. Simply know the file you're stepping into, document your process towards success, and share what works with your replacement for that role when the time is right.
